An Internet Marketer welcomes sales. He welcomes sales now and in the future. Having said that it is your job as an Internet marketer to help your customers or potential customers see the value of purchasing your product right now. Although future sales are welcome immediate sales insure that there will be some immediate profit. No matter how much your website visitor likes your offer right now and no matter what the visitors intention is regarding returning at a later date to purchase, once they leave they may never come back.
Realizing that an immediate sale is better for you and in fact better for your customer, providing you are offering him a valuable product that will help him to improve his life, it behooves you to do all you can to make an immediate sale happen.
That is where the One Time Offer (OTO) comes in. An OTO is an offer that your customer can get right now. Furthermore an OTO will not be offered again in the same way nor will your visitor ever be given the same deal.
Your customer is informed in your OTO that this is a very special deal and he will never see this particular deal again. Thus he must act now or lose out.
Be sure to make sure that if you are presenting your offer as a real one-time offer that you take all reasonable precautions to make it a true OTO. If you are known by your customers as someone who claims to be making an OTO but they know that they can really get the exact deal at a future time you will lose credibility in the eyes of your potential or current customers.
Where can you make OTOs?
This is not an exhaustive list, however, it should get you thinking about where you can use this valuable sales tool.
1. Put an OTO on your thank you page where your visitors are taken after they sign up for a free gift.
2. Put an OTO on the actual sign up page giving your visitors a chance to take advantage of your great offer at the same time they are getting your original offer.
3. Make your limited time or limited quantity offer right on your original sales page, be sure to inform your visitors how and why this is a OTO. Is it limited for “today only” or “this week only?”
4. After the purchase of your product, send a thank you email to your customer and make the OTO in the email.
Yes, using a One Time Offer can increase your sales while at the same time give your valuable customers a chance to benefit by getting a great deal right now. This is certainly a win/win situation.
